Short Breaks in Nice

Nice is an ideal short break destination and can provide an ideal nano break experience. Nice airport is located just under 4 miles from the centre of Nice with great public transport links to quickly get you into the centre ville and also to other key Cote D’Azur destinations.
You will definitely want to secure that window seat for your flight to Nice as the airport is located right on the Mediterranean Sea right on the west end of the Promenade des Anglais.
Short Breaks to Nice from London
For early morning departures we suggest you look for easyJet flights from either Luton or London Gatwick. If you live by the right Thameslink stations you can mix departure and return London airports. British Airways offers flights from London Gatwick and London Heathrow. Wizz Air also offer a LGW service which gives you lots of opportunities to mix and match to get the best fare.
Short Breaks to Nice from Regional Airports
Our rule for Nano Breaks is for flights to arrive at the destination airport before 11am but for some cities we make an exception if it allows greater flexibility on flights from regional UK airports. Connecting flights with both Air France (via Paris) and KLM (via Amsterdam) touch down just before 11:30am and open up UK departures. The return legs are reasonable as well giving you sufficient time in Nice. See below for specific airports:
Short Breaks to Nice from Birmingham
Fly out via Amsterdam or Paris just after 6am with either KLM or Air France. The connection back via Paris is perhaps the better option but do check prices as Amsterdam can be cheaper. Check for direct return flights with Jet2 which operate on certain days.
Short Breaks to Nice from Manchester
Fly out via Amsterdam or Paris just before 6am with either KLM or Air France from Manchester airport. The connection back via Paris gives you an additional hour in Nice but do check prices via Amsterdam for the cheapest price. There are also direct connections with easyJet and Jet2 on some days which can give you a direct return flight.
Short Breaks to Nice from Norwich
Fly out via Amsterdam on the first flight out of NWI at 6:05am with KLM. The connection back via Amsterdam gives you most of the day in Nice
Short Breaks to Nice from Bristol
Fly out via Amsterdam at 6:20am with KLM and return in the afternoon of the next day via AMS. easyJet has direct flights back to Bristol in the afternoon so be prepared to mix and match to get the most convenient times
Short Breaks to Nice from Humberside
Fly out from Humberside via Amsterdam at 6:10am with KLM and return the next day via AMS on the last returning flight. The duration of the flight takes just over 5 hours and gets you in just after 9pm.
Short Breaks to Nice from Newcastle
Again, flying out via Amsterdam is the best option from Newcastle airport. Leave just after 6am with KLM with the flight back departing after 7pm giving you great connections back. Flights are available also with Air France via Paris
Short Breaks to Nice from Leeds
Flying out via Amsterdam is the best option from Leeds Bradford. Leave just after 6am with KLM with the flight back departing after 7pm giving you great connections back. Direct return flights are available on some days with Jet2.
Short Breaks to Nice from Edinburgh
Fly KLM via Amsterdam for the best Nano break option. Leave just after 6am on our outbound flight. Flights are available also with Air France via Paris but do not have as good connection times. Be prepared to transfer swiftly as Schiphol airport. On your return look for direct easyJet flights operating on certain dates at later times.
Short Breaks to Nice from Glasgow
Fly KLM via Amsterdam for the best Nano break option. The return flight has a longer duration time than the Edinburgh route so if you are able to choose between these two Scottish airports then do check timings from both departure points.
Short Breaks to Nice from Aberdeen
Glasgow and Edinburgh are not the only Scottish airports to have connections to Nice. Fly KLM via Amsterdam from Aberdeen and again like many options mentioned above take the flight back departing just after 5pm the next day.
Airport Transport to Nice

One Night in Nice
Nice is a compact city with hotel options either on the promenade with a beachfront view or further within the city nearer the old town. Choose from well known brands or independent hotels. Five star properties command prominent placing on the Promenade des Anglais but you can find more intimate hotels within the city and all is within walking distance.
Explore the museums and art galleries or just a lengthy stroll along the Promenade. If you want to hit the beach be prepared to pay for a chair or space as swathes of the beach are private. Visiting the two city cathedrals are also recommended as is a wander around the old town. Views from Castle Hill give you the a stunning panoramic of the Cote D’Azur.
