City Breaks from Teesside Airport

When viewing the early departures at Teesside airport, the city break options for a Nano Break seem small. The flight leaving for Amsterdam at just after 6am is the best direct option. KLM offers a return evening flight the following day with a departure from Schiphol leaving after 9pm. This offers you nearly 48 hours in this legendary capital city.

However, if you consider this Amsterdam flight as a way to connect into Europe then the onward destinations you can fly to grow. Connections are on offer to twelve further cities, and they all arrive before 11am (our guiding rule for a Nano trip). Stretch this a tiny bit more to an arrival of time of just before 11:30am and a further ten short break destinations are suddenly within reach. City Breaks from Teesside to Amsterdam

Amsterdam as a city break from Teesside should be a high on your consideration list. It is a year round that you can return to time after time. On offer are a mix of museums, boat trips along the canal system, and of course it’s well renowned café culture. There is good mix of accommodation that caters for a nano break stay. Do look at hotels close to the central rail station. Check if they have a concierge to leave your bags before/after your stay.

Schiphol airport has a rail station directly underneath the airport. It offers a quick and regular service into the central station (around 20 mins). There are also a number of other well-known Dutch cities within a short distance. Taking that earliest flight from Teesside, you can connect via rail to Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Eindhoven. You can also travel onwards into Belgium with direct rail links to Antwerp and Brussels. Although we showcase a connecting flight to Brussels below, we recommend the train as an alternative. It is the fastest option into Brussels city centre and the environmental impact on your travel is reduced.

Connecting Flights from Teesside through Amsterdam

Those European destinations with connecting KLM flights arriving just after 11am include Oslo, Krakow, Nice, Gothenburg, Nantes, Zurich, Geneva, Stavanger, Gdansk and Turin.

When choosing a connecting flights from Teesside for a nano break we recommend purchasing the basic ticket without hold luggage.
