Frankfurt City Breaks

Frankfurt beckons as a dynamic German hub for a short break, where finance and culture harmoniously coexist. Whether you’re exploring historic landmarks, immersing yourself in the arts, or savoring local cuisine along the River Main, Frankfurt promises an enriching and diverse escape for those looking for an alternative city break.

Weekend Breaks to Frankfurt

Frankfurt airport (FRA) is the main hub for Lufthansa which means it provides amazing connections to/from the UK’s main airports. Choose between Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh and you will find early morning flights arriving into FRA before 11am and return flights available in the evening the following day. Thus making it an ideal destination for a one night city break.

We are big fans of low cost flying but for this destination we suggest giving Ryanair a wide berth. Low cost flights arrive into Frankfurt Hahn which is not compatible with a short break in Frankfurt due to its distance and connectivity.

If you don’t live near one of UK’s major airports, don’t panic as one night break to Frankfurt is still  possible from a wide range of regional British airports. Connecting flights via Amsterdam can get you into Frankfurt for just after 11am with convenient late afternoon flights the following day. Thus, Frankfurt is accessible from Norwich, Bristol, Humberside, Newcastle and Cardiff.

The best way to get into central Frankfurt from the airport is the train. Connections are regular and take just over 20 minutes into Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. Selecting the right accommodation is vital for a short break in Frankfurt. Situated near the Museumsufer, Roomers is a stylish boutique hotel offering modern amenities and easy access from/to the main Frankfurt central station.
